Vision and Values
Our School Vision
Together we Dream, Believe, Challenge and Achieve...
As a Church of England primary school, our vision is strongly rooted in Christian traditions.
Our inclusive community inspires pupils to dream big and have belief, inspired by faith, with enquiring minds and a spirit of curiosity, developing creativity, integrity and resilience.
We challenge ourselves through exploration - using a broad and balanced curriculum, we strive for high achievement for all.
Our Mission Statement:
'Together we Dream, Believe, Challenge and Achieve'.
Our shared vision and values are at the core of everything we do, underpinning our teaching and learning. We provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be confident, happy citizens - without even one being lost.
‘What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?’ – Luke 15:4
As a community we all believe that all children should Dream, Believe, Challenge and Achieve.
We motivate our community to dream, to be inspired by our faith, to develop happy, young people with enquiring minds, a spirit of curiosity, respect for themselves, others and the environment so that they will have the skills, resilience and adaptability to become lifelong learners ready to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
We encourage belief in ourselves through integrity, perseverance, collaboration and diversity of thought to discover, nurture and use our talents.
We challenge our own and existing ideas through questioning, exploration and solving problems; building resilience through invention, providing achievement through high-quality learning experiences based on a broad and balanced curriculum whilst learning within our inspirational, invitational and inclusive Christian community.
The children themselves decided on 4 key learning behaviours to enable them to fulfil the vision in their learning.
Creativity
Curiosity
Resilience
Integrity
Our Christian Values
Our school has a strong Christian ethos, and prides itself on the attitudes and behaviour of our children and staff. We are proud of our distinctively Christian character, and our close ties with our local CE church.
Our six key values are at the heart of our school:
- Friendship and Forgiveness
- Compassion
- Trust
- Thankfulness
- Peace
- Fellowship and Community
Revd. Canon John Paton regularly leads our Collective Worship assemblies, and we hold seasonal services and other activities at our parish church, St Mary's.
Each term, we present a child from each Year group with a SUN Values Award, for demonstrating our school values through their learning journey.
