Miss Melissa Kennedy
I am approaching my 4th year at S.U.N School having previously been Assistant Head for 8 years at another local church school. Before becoming a teacher in my 30s, I was an Area Marketing Manager for a magazine company – very different from my true vocation. I have 2 grown up children, one of whom has followed my footsteps into teaching, 2 cats and a rescue dog called Margo, who definitely keep me on my toes. I enjoy playing netball, anything ‘art' and I love a good crime drama!
It is a privilege to work in such a wonderful school with the staff, children and governors who make my job a joy. -

I have been teaching for over twenty years and I am as passionate about my job today as I was all those years ago! I have two grown-up daughters who both live in London and a very mischievous three-year-old cockapoo, who has filled the empty nest! I love travelling and walking in my spare time. I am so looking forward to starting my fourth year at SUN in Year 6! It is a real privilege to work with the older children and watch them thrive and grow as they take on various responsibilities within the school. I'm excited to share all the exciting topics, opportunities and trips we have planned and can't wait to see all the wonderful learning the children will achieve.

Some info about me - I have been working in schools for the last 17years but this is my first year as a qualified teacher. For 5 years I ran my own business Debutots providing story and drama classes to nurseries and pre schools which is why I love the theatre and telling stories. I have 2 boys (16 and 10) and one of them is a massive Man city fan which then makes me a Man city fan. I have 2 cats and I really don't like mice and once got trapped in my lounge because my cat brought a mouse in and I was so scared I locked myself in the lounge until someone could rescue me from the mouse in my house!.

I've been working at S.U.N since June this year and I am really enjoying spending time with all the lovely SUN family! I have worked in primary schools since 2013, first as a TA, then an ELSA, HLTA before finally embarking on teaching! In a previous life, I have been a waitress, cafe manager, business travel agent and a board-level Executive assistant in the telecom Industry so you could say I am a Jack of all trades! I am mum to two teenagers (16 & 18) who these days love nothing more than avoiding my husband and I to spend all their time in their rooms on social media! I am an avid reader of all things fiction (particularly historical) and I have to read every night before bed to help me sleep! I also love going to the theatre which I try and do at least once a month! I don't enjoy exercising so I hope the children make me

I've love working at S.U.N School and have been a teaching assistant here since September 2022. I am addicted to researching family histories, and love a mystery including escape rooms. I enjoy the outdoors, crafts, drama and dance. Shotokan Karate, Ballroom dancing, British Sign language stage 1, Non-violent communication and Poi spinning are just a few of the things I've learned over the years. I am currently trying to learn French, ukelele and wood carving. I love working with the children and am thrilled when they succeed in making progress with something they have found tricky.
